Calisthenics

Gee, I haven't written anything about Layla-lou for ages!!

We had calisthenics stage practice today, which Layla just loves! She gets so excited about these things... getting all her costumes ready and make-up and making sure that everything is just so before she goes to bed... he he much more organised than me!

Layla adores doing calisthenics, probably just as much if not more than I did. (which reminds me I must blog about my doing Masters.... now that's an interesting story!)

Christie did cala for a couple of years but wasn't really into it... in fact I had to force her to go to classes and even then it was under sufference and yes, there was bribery involved!

But Laya? You couldn't keep her away.... she loves the whole girly thing - the makeup- the hair- the costumes- the glitter- the stage presence! Well she is a mini-me after all!!!

The Beach

Layla loves the beach, or more to the point, she loves wearing bathers! She owns about 5 pairs at the moment, and it is such a hard decision deciding which ones to put on! She is worse than me!!! She will happily play in the sand for hours, building castles etc. or just paddling and collecting things. I, on the other hand, hate sand.

She also loves playgrounds..... who doesn't?

My office

I took Layla to work with me yesterday - it was a curriculum day and I only had to go in for a few hours as we had orientation for the students and were putting on a dinner etc. so had to organise some things for that.

So Layla got to sit in our project office and have her own computer all to herself!!! She was as proud as anything and kept coming out and telling everyone that it was her office, and then she made herself a drink and told everyone she was going back to her office! Just adorable.

After dinner (she came with me - it was just a buffet-type dinner in the conference room) we were walking to the car and she said "when I grow up and go to work every day and I have my own office and go to parties you can come to work with me then and you can have your own office too...."

What a long sentence for her!!! Does she think that's what I do all day? Go to parties? That would be nice..... but alas work is not as exciting as that all the time!

When we got home she proudly told Daddy that she had her own office and did LOTS AND LOTS of work!

Birth story

I finally managed to recall Layla's birth story, which is below here somewhere...... I am surprised with everything going on at the moment with her big sister that I got time to remember this!!

When I grow up.....

"I'm going to have big legs at the top like you that wobble when I walk......"
